Stroud Society of Model Engineers |
|
Established 1972 |
Member of the Federation of Model Engineers |
Objects |
To promote and encourage among its members an interest in craftsmanship through model engineering and allied interests. |
In order to carry out these functions we require a wide variety of skills. See here if you would like to help. |
Activities |
The society has an 850 ft groundlevel miniature railway (5" and 3.5") in Stratford Park, Stroud which members can use at any time. |
Events are organised at the track during Summer months to encourage as many people as possible to run their engines and turn up for a natter. Training can be arranged for those who need it. Public passenger hauling is held on the last Sunday afternoon in each month, April - Oct. |
During the winter regular meetings are held with speakers invited to talk on a variety of mainly engineering subjects.
The meetings are held in the Rodborough Community Hall, Stroud and are open to non-members.
